The Janesville Snow Chiefs Snowmobile Club:
Is a club that believes in promoting the responsible
enjoyment of the sport of snowmobiling. We are a non-profit
organization which was incorporated in 1975 with the goal of
promoting safe and organized snowmobiling in our area. The
club is a member of the Association of Wisconsin
Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC) and the Rock Co. Alliance of
Snowmobile Clubs. Through these memberships, we have
access to a network of groomed trails throughout Southern
Wisconsin.
Trail Rules:
Most of the land in our area is privately owned, and some of
these landowners have kindly allowed us to put snowmobile
trails across there property. This permission is for access to
the marked trail only! Snowmobiling anywhere else on their
property is a violation of the law. You can be sue for
trespassing and damages by the property owner.
A great deal of work has been put into building and
maintaining snowmobile trails. Road crossings, danger
areas, directions to towns and other destinations are
marked for the convenience and safety of all snowmobilers.
These markings must remain intact to provide for the safety
of the people using the trails.
What does it take to become a Janesville Snow Chief?
Our club offers a family type membership which includes
husband, wife and all children under the age of 18, or those
still in school, but you don't have to be married to join.
As a member, we expect that you show an interest in
promoting snowmobiling in our area and the willingness to
help with fund raisers and trail details.
